Wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group. Our uniform consists of a sweatshirt or shirt that you can sew badges on and a red and white coloured scarf or ‘necker’ to represent 2nd Braintree & Bocking Air Scout group. There are lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, trousers or shorts.
Scouts uniform
A uniform can be bought from many different locations, some of which we linked here. If you’re not sure where to start, leaders can give you more information about what to buy. They may even know if someone is selling a uniform second hand.
Remember …
You don’t need a uniform to join. But once you’ve settled in, you’ll start speedily earning badges, and you’ll need to know where to put them!
Costs
2nd Braintree & Bocking Air Scouts charges a fee (called subscriptions or subs) to cover the costs of the annual membership fee, the groups’s running costs and the regular meetings costs – which covers venue hire, admin, insurances and materials for activities. Although many of these costs are annual in nature, to make it more affordable for parents we spilt these costs into termly payments. There are sometimes extra charges for special activities, camps and events. We try to keep our subs as low as possible so that anyone can come to Scouts. If you need help paying subs, please speak to our Group Lead Volunteer
Our Current Termly Fee is set at £45.
